At Sol Rites, we nurture the whole child through rhythm, ritual, and play, creating an environment of emotional safety where children experience the beauty of the world and develop a natural love of learning.
About Sol Rites
Est. 2023
I developed this program, “Sol Rites”, inspired by what I consider rituals of light passed on to me by my incredible teachers, professors, mentors, and coaches.
Rituals first entered my life at the age of 4 through my own Montessori education as a child and were further strengthened through Waldorf training in my adulthood.
The rituals of a morning verse to greet the day. Serving tea with fresh berries and pastries. Counting to 10 in different languages and singing class songs to gently transition between activities.
The scent of yeast and honey as little hands mix dough. Harvesting basil by hand from the garden to make pizza from scratch. Gathering around a campfire after breakfast, playing seasonal songs with a guitar and sound drums that stay with you all year.
Learning with friends through games and rhymes, in a way that instills a love of learning as much as it teaches the curriculum.
Looking forward to the soothing aroma of lavender towels and compassionate affirmations with the sound bowl after yoga. Ending each day with a dance party.
All of this unfolds in a space where emotions are named, allowed, and supported—where social-emotional learning is modeled daily to teach boundaries, conflict repair, taking turns, and celebrating oneself without bringing another down.
Oftentimes, preschool is the first time a child is left with a new adult, separate from their parents and family.
My mission is to create an atmosphere of warmth, calm, creativity, playfulness, and, most importantly, emotional safety. Every child deserves to experience that the world is good, that their parents choose safe places and people to care for them, and that they are always returned to.
This early sense of secure attachment becomes an invaluable foundation for lifelong relational intelligence.
